This is an amazing find! I wanted a mahl stick that I could easily take to my painting classes, and this one checks all the boxes. It easily breaks down to fit in my bag, it's very sturdy to use, and it is extraordinarily lightweight. My art instructor was skeptical when he saw me pull it out the first time because his experience with 2 piece mahl sticks is that they are heavy and tiresome to use for very long. Then he looked closer at this and changed his tune. I bought a second one for him as a gift, and he was over the moon. I bought the medium stick that came with one extension, I don’t think I’ll ever need anything longer than that. Light as a feather yet surprisingly rigid. Manufactured to a very high standard, this stick is as good as they come.

Great steadying too when painting
This is a lightweight mahl stick with an extension for working on large canvases/surfaces. Being in my mid seventies, and I like painting scenes with strong perspective, this adds that little bit of stability to my brush work. I like the stiff carbon fire construction. Great product.

I tried to make my own mahl stick out of a wooden rod and a kids plastic ball wrapped in cloth, but it never really worked and was more of a hindrance than a help. This however is just perfect. So light, perfectly designed and so easy to use, I wonder why I’d never invested in a proper one before. I went for the small one as I don’t really do large paintings, and so far it’s perfect for my needs. Came beautifully wrapped and is a pleasure to own and use. In hindsight, I probably should have bought the next size up just in case I ever needed more reach, but for now this does the job perfectly!!"

“Lightweight and beautifully made
This is a cracking Mahl stick. I have the two piece version. Its lightweight, easy to use, looks really smart, feels like an old design brought into the 21st century. And you look so cool when your using it, it would go well with a pair of shades and a cool glass of something! Joking aside I really like using it and wonder why I haven't bought one before. Great for adding detail especially if you get impatient and also to avoid smudging pencil work if you cant help drawing. And the neat trick in their videos of using it for straight lines is really useful.

I have been toying with buying a Mahl stick for a while now and when I spotted this one on Amazon I decided to go with it. I'm so glad I did.
I was surprised at just how light it is- even though I knew it was carbon fibre - but it is not flimsy. In fact, it has made me realise that you could easily take the Mahl stick on your travels without adding any weight to your luggage!
It's well made and beautifully packaged so it would also make a wonderful gift for any artist.
And to add to that it is made in the UK and has a 7 year warranty!
If I need a larger one as well I will not hesitate to buy the same brand."
